Pine Blue Design Build brings together experienced leadership, practical expertise, and a shared commitment to doing things properly.
The contracting division is led by Justin James and Rob James - not related, just two builders who met while working for the same local construction company and quickly realized they shared the same standards. Both had previously run their own contracting businesses independently, each bringing years of hands-on experience across residential and commercial projects. With decades of combined experience between them, they’ve worked through every phase of construction from groundwork and framing to final finishes.
What brought them together was a mutual belief that projects should be organized, well-communicated, and built to last. No shortcuts. No chaos. Just solid planning, careful execution, and pride in the final result.
Today, Pine Blue Design Build’s contracting division handles new construction, renovations, interiors, and exteriors with a practical, boots-on-the-ground approach. Strong project management ensures clients feel confident at every stage, while skilled trades and trusted subtrades work together seamlessly to bring each project to completion.
At its core, the build side of Pine Blue is about craftsmanship, integrity, and finishing well because how a project is completed matters just as much as how it begins.

Rob brings years of hands-on construction experience across residential and small-scale commercial projects. With a strong background in siding, fencing, decking, and exterior work, he understands what it takes to build structures that stand up to real-world conditions.
Equally comfortable working across all aspects of construction, Rob is deeply experienced on the tools and takes pride in solid, practical workmanship. His approach is straightforward: build it properly, build it to last, and stand behind the work.
On every site, Rob combines experience, adaptability, and steady execution ensuring each project progresses efficiently and meets high standards of durability and finish.

Justin brings precision, discipline, and a sharp eye for detail to every project. With extensive experience as a machine operator and expert drywall finisher and painter, he understands both the heavy groundwork and the fine finishing that define a well-built space.
Highly skilled with tools and building systems, Justin manages projects with confidence and efficiency, ensuring each phase moves forward smoothly. He is especially known for his meticulous final inspections catching deficiencies before anyone else sees them and resolving them proactively. His standard is simple: if it’s not right, it’s not finished.
From structural preparation to the final coat of paint, Justin’s focus on quality control ensures every project leaves a strong, polished first impression.
